Hazel - Bio-Intro

Mystic Wanderer - Hazel Leung

I guess I have been a traveler for most of my life.  I was born in England and when I was 4 we moved to Australia, when I was 8 we moved back to England and when I was 12 we came back to Australia.  That kind of travel was not by choice but, now that I am mature, wherever I find myself is entirely by choice.

There have been long periods in my life when I didn’t appear to be travelling but in reality we all take day trips around our neighborhood and attend things which might be interesting to other people who do not live where we do.  Perhaps we should all think like travelers and look through a different set of eyes, eyes that do not take for granted what is around us all the time.  If we can do this then life is never boring or mundane.

I used to be dependent upon controlling my environment but when I took to the road with my beloved dog Ceilidh for three months of each year back in 2000 I learned to tread lightly and to fit in to my environment, making myself small and not dominating the space of other people.  This was a very good thing for my personal and spiritual development and, over time, I became a welcomed visitor as people began so ask me to come again and again.  You don’t always need a lot of money to travel, you can visit people you know and share their lives for a while, you can travel, not only to destinations but to new experiences and new ways of doing life.  Lose your need for control, blend in and go with the flow.

Another trick I developed since 2000 was to not only to see places, travel broadens the mind so they say, but it can also enhance your spiritual self as well.  New places not only look and sound different, they smell different and they “feel” different too.  When I began to “feel” destinations my travel experience was complete.  In order to experience life at this level one needs to develop a more finely tuned sense of self and surroundings.  You do not have to be psychic or spiritual per se, all you have to do is stop and listen and then close your eyes and feel what is around you.  Eventually you will raise awareness of the more subtle vibrations in the places that you find yourself, whether as a traveler or a resident.  Next time you travel become a mystic wanderer by being more aware of the energy in your surroundings.  You can practice by checking out your home environment right now.

I have written about my experiences too so you can come with me and learn about some of the special places I have been.  There is probably a special place where you live too, make sure you go there and feel it’s gift or message.
